R.V. Anderson Associates Limited (RVA) was retained by the Municipality of Port Hope to complete a Schedule B Class EA, design and contract administration activities for a new elevated water storage tank in the town of Port Hope.
The new elevated storage tank is designed to provide fire storage and improve distribution system pressures. The 46 m high composite structure consists of a steel tank with a storage capacity of 3000 m3, sitting on a concrete pedestal. It features a dual (inflow/discharge) piping system to improve circulation and water quality, and a circulation pump to minimize ice formation during winter conditions.
A valve room, located in the base of the pedestal, houses all valves and piping. A chlorine top-up system is located in a separate room.
