- Community involvement
A detailed explanation of the reasons for our selection can be found on Canada’s Top 100 Employers competition homepage, along with features in the official announcement magazine, The Globe and Mail, and Eluta.ca.

“Being recognized as a top employer in Canada is a defining accomplishment,” says Shawn Scott, President and CEO of RVA. “At RVA, we know the strength of our business goes hand-in-hand with the strength of our people. As we continue to enhance our ways of working, our goal is to create the best possible working environment for them – one that is inclusive, flexible, and equitable, and truly supportive of their personal and professional well-being. We are fortunate to work alongside so many talented and dedicated professionals who make RVA a great place to be and to work, every day.”
In a year where business has been anything but usual for organizations around the world, RVA continued to put the well-being of our people first, helping them to navigate change with persistence and agility, and also with compassion. After RVA shifted to work from home arrangements at the beginning of the pandemic, RVA was already ahead, establishing a Pandemic Planning Committee to begin imagining and discussing the future work environment post-pandemic. This was followed up with a company-wide survey to capture feedback on remote work, productivity, and future work options. In response, our firm introduced new flexible work arrangements, extended health and financial benefits, introduced new social event programs – such as mental health breaks, coffee breaks, and virtual game nights – and bolstered free support services through our employee and family assistance program. Through it all, one thing has remained consistent: our commitment to our people.
Terri Zimmer, RVA’s Human Resources Director, adds: “We’re able to do this by focusing on what matters, which is to provide an exceptional employee experience for our people – specifically by prioritizing their health and well-being, making sure they’re well-supported, leveraging our flexible work environment, and offering new opportunities for growth and development.”
RVA is honoured to be an employer of choice, and we thank all of our people across the country for collectively building a firm that has seen success after success for over 70 years.
