RVA Recognized By ACEC-NL For Engineering Excellence

RVA celebrates a major milestone after being recognized with the 2026 Engineering Excellence Award at the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies of-Newfoundland and Labrador (ACEC-NL) AGM and Awards Luncheon on June 9.

This award highlights standout project teams that demonstrate innovation, impact, and technical excellence. RVA earned this recognition for its dedicated role in the St. Thomas Line Pumping Station project for the Town of Paradise. It was a critical infrastructure initiative designed to modernize the municipality’s wastewater system.

Accepting the award on behalf of the broader project team was RVA representative Chris Newman, who served as project manager and oversaw project delivery.

At its core, the project tackled long-standing system limitations by introducing a more reliable and resilient wastewater solution. By diverting raw sewage from the existing Lift Station 10 to the newly constructed St. Thomas Line Pumping Station, the project significantly reduces the risk of environmental contamination and helps safeguard local waterways and surrounding ecosystems.

Beyond immediate improvements, the project was designed to support continued community growth while strengthening climate resilience and ensuring long-term operational efficiency for the Town.

“This project reflects what thoughtful engineering can achieve,” Chris noted, “we aimed to balance environmental protection, infrastructure reliability, cost, and sustainable development in a growing community.”
