RVA Named One of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for 2022

Canada's best managed 2022 PLATINUM

TORONTO—May 10, 2022—RVA was recognized for overall business performance and sustained growth with the prestigious Canada’s Best Managed Companies designation. The 2022 Best Managed program award winners are amongst the best-in-class of Canadian owned and managed companies with revenues over $50 million demonstrating leadership in the areas of strategy, capabilities and innovation, culture and commitment, and financials to achieve sustainable growth.

Now in its 29th year, Canada’s Best Managed Companies remains one of the country’s leading business awards programs recognizing Canadian‑owned and managed companies for innovative, world‑class business practices. Every year, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies compete for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates the calibre of their management abilities and practices.

This recognition marks the eighth year in a row that RVA has requalified as a Platinum Standard member, a designation that is exclusive to Canada’s leading organizations that have been Best Managed Companies for seven consecutive years or more. Under this program, RVA joins other private Canadian-owned companies that have demonstrated a commendable emphasis on culture and people, all-around innovation, superior business strategy, and sustained performance. By defining and implementing purposeful action in these areas throughout all levels of their organization, winners like RVA are gleaning the competitive edge that comes with leading and doing business in ever-changing market conditions. Overall, RVA has maintained Canada’s Best Managed status since 2008.

“It has become increasingly important for businesses to foster collaborative workplaces where employees are empowered to make valuable contributions to their organizations,” said Lorrie King, Partner, Deloitte Private and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. “This year’s Best Managed winners embraced a people-first mentality, enabling employees to cultivate important capabilities and integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives into their core strategy. By prioritizing employee wellbeing and championing professional development, these companies have been able to harness an engaged talent pool to explore new ventures and set the course for continuous improvement and growth.”

Applicants are evaluated by an independent judging panel comprised of representatives from program sponsors in addition to special guest judges. 2022 Best Managed companies share commonalities that include (but are not limited to) putting their people and culture at the forefront, focusing on their ESG strategies and doubling down on accelerated digitization.

“Our ongoing recognition under the Canada’s Best Managed program is a crowning achievement for all of us at RVA,” said Shawn Scott, President and CEO of RVA. “Every day, I have the honour of seeing our people work tirelessly to bring the very best of themselves and our capabilities to our clients. It is our collective appetite for continuous improvement and innovation, and our dedication to one simple mandate – Say what we do, and do what we say – that has fuelled our success through seven decades of changing business environments and industry advances. As our company grows both locally and nationally, I have no doubt that our people will continue to live up to the incredible bonds we’ve formed with our clients and with each other – using compassion, creativity, and resourcefulness as our guiding forces.”

“To become a Best Managed Platinum Club winner is a huge accomplishment,” said Derrick Dempster, Partner, Deloitte Private and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. “These companies demonstrate resilience, versatility, and strategic acuity. They have consistently proven their ability to thrive in a competitive, rapidly changing market. This year’s winners should take pride not only in this prestigious recognition but also in the important contributions they make to the Canadian business world.”

2022 winners of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies award will be honoured at galas across the country. The Best Managed virtual symposium will address leading-edge business issues that are key to the success of today’s business leaders.

The Best Managed program is sponsored by Deloitte Private, CIBC, The Globe and Mail, Salesforce, and TMX Group.
