CCAB is a national, non-partisan organization that builds bridges between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples, businesses, and communities through diverse programming, providing tools, training, network building, business awards, and events. It is through these relationships that the CCAB helps to foster an equitable and sustainable economy across Canada. As a Non-Indigenous Business Member of the CCAB, RVA joins a prestigious network of both Indigenous and non-Indigenous companies, corporations, and enterprises that are dedicated to the progressive improvement of relations with Indigenous Peoples.

“Becoming a member of CCAB demonstrates RVA’s readiness to grow and change,” said Dania Chehab, Project Manager and head of RVA’s Indigenous Engagement Working Group. “With CCAB’s guidance, our team has the opportunity to strengthen collaborative partnerships with Indigenous businesses across the country. We are proud to come together with CCAB to learn more about First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples, create economic opportunities, and build cross-cultural awareness.”

Established in 2001, PAR is a CCAB-led certification program that confirms corporate performance in Indigenous relations and supports participants’ efforts towards progressive improvement and commitment to prosperity in Indigenous communities and with Indigenous businesses. As a certification process that has built its reputation over 20 years, PAR is the premier corporate social responsibility program providing a high level of assurance through an independent, third-party verification process of company reports on measurable outcomes and initiatives in four performance areas: Leadership Actions, Employment, Business Development, and Community Relationships. These verified reports are then reviewed by an independent jury of Indigenous business leaders who assign final certification. Companies who have achieved certification have done so through a commitment to the process and a responsibility to continually improve and upgrade their certification at the Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels.

As a participant in the PAR program, RVA gains access to a collaborative platform that provides valuable insight into implementing best practices for building and maintaining progressive relationships, enhancing understanding of Indigenous cultures and perspectives, and identifying potential business ventures that promote mutually beneficial relationships with First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples. The rigor of the PAR vetting process will serve to continually affirm RVA’s mandate to operate with integrity and accountability as it actively works to promote the growth and success of Indigenous businesses.

“Becoming a CCAB member is a significant milestone in RVA’s ongoing commitment to Indigenous Peoples and communities,” said Shawn Scott, CEO and President of RVA. “CCAB plays a crucial role in facilitating platforms, advocacy, and research that support Indigenous businesses across the country, and we look forward to continuing this important work together through our PAR certification journey. With our recent acceptance into the CCAB member network, we aim to expand our impact as a dedicated business partner and advocate for Indigenous prosperity.”
