RVA Drives Expansion in British Columbia, Names Michael Florendo AVP, Infrastructure

R.V. Anderson Associates Limited (RVA), a leading Canadian consulting engineering firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Florendo as Associate Vice President (AVP), Infrastructure, British Columbia.

In this role, Michael will lead the continued growth and strategic development of RVA’s Vancouver office, leveraging the firm’s national expertise and multidisciplinary capabilities to deliver high-quality, innovative infrastructure solutions for clients across the province.

This appointment reflects RVA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its presence in British Columbia and supporting the evolving needs of the communities it serves. With an established office in Vancouver, RVA is well positioned to deepen partnerships with municipalities, utilities, developers, partners, and community stakeholders, delivering tailored solutions that address long and short-term infrastructure demands.

Michael brings more than 25 years of consulting engineering experience, with a proven track record of building and leading client-focused teams. His portfolio spans a broad range of infrastructure projects across Western Canada and the United States, including municipal infrastructure, water resources, water and wastewater facilities, and transportation systems.

Throughout his career, Michael has led many multidisciplinary projects, including highway improvements, flood mitigation and climate resilience initiatives, underground utility systems, and water and wastewater treatment facility expansions. He is recognized for his ability to align technical excellence with client priorities, delivering practical and sustainable engineering outcomes.

Michael’s leadership approach reflects a strong commitment to collaboration and a “One Team” mindset, closely aligned with RVA’s national strategy of delivering integrated and innovative infrastructure solutions to clients. As AVP, Michael will play a key role in establishing a strong and sustainable foundation for RVA’s Vancouver operations, while contributing to the firm’s broader growth across the region.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Michael enjoys travelling and embracing diverse cultural experiences, bringing a global perspective to both his personal and professional pursuits.
