RVA’s 2016 Habitat for Humanity Build in Toronto

News & Events, News Releases

(June 2016) – On June 11, RVA participated in the Toronto Habitat for Humanity Build and it was a great success! Many volunteers came out to hammer, excavate and paint, helping to build new townhouses for families in need.

Since 1976 Habitat for Humanity has been engaging volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means to break the poverty cycle. When a family’s financial health improves through affordable housing, they are able to contribute to the community and local economy. This leads to better outcomes for health, education and emotional wellbeing and contributes to community organizations. In Canada, Habitat for Humanity has served over 2,800 families nationwide.

We were truly honored to be a part of this experience and thank everybody for coming out.
