Norton Park Facility

IMG_4941Norton Park provides a much needed public green space and sports venue to serve the growing community of Burlington, Ontario. It will include two certified FIFA artificial turf fields, a public washroom building and maintenance area, a large-scale pavilion, concrete specialty walls, seats and paving, two half court basketball pads, a splash pad, one 90-car parking lot, tree and shrub planting, children’s playground, asphalt pathways and 1500m² skatepark.

RVA was responsible for the architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical design for the washroom pavilion and maintenance facility. Highlights include the design of pavilion with a sloped roof supported by angular columns, a washroom building with a green roof and stone veneer exterior, and several architectural feature walls with varying slopes and curvatures designed not only as a visual feature, but to lead visitors through the park and form specific outdoor spaces.
