2021 Toronto Waterfront Marathon

On October 17th, we met a goal – with 60k total distance covered and over five hours of nonstop action, we proudly supported a cause that has raised millions for charity at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon.
A big shout out to Alejandra Calva, Anastasia Piskunova, Ashli Robitaille, Bernardo Majano, Cameron Bell, and Salam Al-Durra – for planning, training, and mobilizing as Team RVA for the long-awaited race, and putting their best feet forward to champion worthy causes!
An annual tradition, the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon is one of the few IAAF Gold Label marathons in North America and is the grand finale of the Canada Running Series. This year, a sold-out field of 5,000 runners raced 10k along Toronto’s west end to fundraise for local charities through Scotiabank’s Charity Challenge. It was the first in-person race in the Canadian Running Series since March 2020, and members of RVA were proud to show up to support local causes, their sponsors, and community partners.
For some of the RVA team, it was neither their first nor hardest race, while others completed their first 10k run. While the reasons we run may be different – whether it’s for health and wellness, to reach a personal milestone, or for a good endorphin rush – our people came together in the spirit of teamwork and giving to take on a special challenge and make a positive impact for our communities. In true OneRVA form, we are constantly moving forward, pushing through, persevering…and seeing each other through to the finish line.
