This project includes the detailed design, contract preparation, and contract administration and inspection services for the widening of Appleby Line to a six-lane urban section for 1.5 km, from Taywood Drive to Highway 407 ETR, and the widening of Dundas Street for 0.5 km, from Sheldon Creek to the CN Rail grade separation, in Burlington. The intersection of Appleby Line and Dundas Street was reconstructed to provide dual-left turn-lanes in each direction.
This assignment included a watercourse relocation (N1 Branch of Sheldon Creek) as a natural channel design, bike lanes, a pedestrian bridge, concrete culverts, traffic signals and roadway illumination, enhanced landscaping design, property acquisition, utility relocations, coordination with local developers and approvals from Conservation Halton and DFO.
