Originally constructed in 1972, the Dominion Road Sewage Pumping Station is a dry/wet well style facility located in the Town of Fort Erie, in the Niagara Region. R.V. Anderson Associates Limited (‘RVA’) was retained by the Niagara Region to design a new pumping station as a replacement to the aging facility. This paper and presentation cover the history of the existing station and force main; selection of new pumping equipment; station layout with regards to the Ontario Electrical Safety Code; design of the new force main section; and construction coordination with respect to the existing station and wastewater collection system.
