The Toronto Office is looking for a minimum 4-month contract full-time student engineer to join the Urban Development team. This contract position may be extended up to one year based on the students program requirements. This position will begin January 2018.
The Urban Development Group undertakes Subdivision and Site Plan development projects, providing expertise related to sanitary, water and storm servicing, site drainage and stormwater management. With respect to the latter, “Low Impact Development” measures such as stormwater infiltration trenches, bio swales, green roofs and rainwater harvesting along with more convention storm water detention tanks, oil grit separators and storm filter systems play on important role on most urban development projects.
•Assist in pre-engineering site surveys and inspection.
•Assist in the preparation of sewer and watermain capacity analysis
•Undertake spreadsheet calculations and work with storm and water modelling software.
•Undertake public utility coordination.
•Assist in the preparation of AutoCAD and Civil 3D based design drawings.
•Assist with quantity calculations and preparing tender documents.
•Provide site review during the construction stage of projects.
•Must be currently enrolled in a civil engineering program at an accredited university.
•Superior English communication skills both oral and written.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
•Must have a valid G Class Driver’s License. Access to a vehicle would be preferable.
•Ability to work in an interactive team atmosphere.
•Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D is an asset.
