The Toronto Office is looking for a student to join their Human Resources team beginning January 2018. This role will mainly be composed of taking on the full-cycle recruiting activities within RVA. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the HR student will be mentored by both the Manager and the Human Resources Generalist. There will also be exposure in other HR aspects such as culture change management and exit interviews. The student will also assist in defining new processes among HR recruiting activities and ensuring optimal efficiency. This is a 4-month contract position with the potential for extension.
•Handle full-cycle recruitment activities including but not limited to:
•Draft job postings for a variety of roles (Civil Technologists, Project Managers, Engineering Students, Engineers, etc).
•When required liaise with staff managers to isolate key duties/requirements for any new roles or roles that required updates to their duties.
•Post job ads on a variety of job boards (LinkedIn, job bank, University & College student placement portals and alumni boards, indeed, etc).
•Attend/conduct interviews with staff managers for various departments.
•Conduct reference checks of candidates. Also follows up on references when required.
•Administer skills/personality assessments to candidates being considered for permanent full-time roles.
•Draft permanent and contract full-time offer letters for various roles.
•Conduct onboarding of new employees. Assists with onboarding documents, computer set up and other tasks required for all new employees’ first day.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
•Individual must currently be enrolled in a human resources program at a recognized college/university.
•Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
•Ability to work in an interactive team atmosphere.
•Previous HR/recruitment experience would be considered an asset.
